The Basilica del Santo is the main church of the city of San Marino and is dedicated to San Marino the patron saint of the Republic, founder of the San Marino community, whose relics are kept right here. It stands in Piazzale Domus Plebis and was designed and built starting in 1896 by Antonio Serra, a Bolognese architect, on the area of the ancient Pieve.
